Sunday morning dawned and we set up the sheds ready for the ambitious 5 shed session ahead. All trains were diverted down the mainline from Russ Hill to Tilgate, as to avoid Prestwood on the branchline. This lead to some interesting and quickly thought out manoeuvres for shunting stock in and out of Jordans.
Mid-morning we arrived at that spot on the timetable that every Rusper signalman ‘enjoys’ which was the engineers special blocking one of the mainline tracks between Charlwood and Glovers Lane. Thankfully the operators in question coped remarkably well with the situation and kept the trains flowing.
Overall it was a very successful session and I’m looking forward to the next one.
